And here we go.
After a lot of anticipation, I bring you the full 65 songs that have made the inaugural Great Rock n Roll Tournament.
We will start off today with the play-in game, which features the lowest vote getter against a random song submitted by you, the voter.
B-52’s – Rock Lobster
vs.
Smashing Pumpkins – Cherub Rock
Tomorrow, I will have the first bracket set up and we will be voting on all of the first round songs in that specific bracket. So that means, there will be 8 match-ups to vote on. I will keep each round of voting open for 3 days because I know how busy we all are these days. Feel free to either put your votes in the comment section or just email them to me.
Once again, thank you to all that submitted their rankings and helped me name the brackets. I think this will be a lot of fun and without further ado, here are the songs and their brackets.

Cherub Rock by far. I hate the bands that came out of Athens, GA in the 1980s.
how are we supposed to vote?
I am going to go with the B-52s on this one. I think historically, Rock Lobster is a more significant example of the genre than Cherub Rock.
Cherub Rock should take this one.
If I have to pick, I'll go with Rock Lobster.
Although I am a fan of Smashing Pumpkins, Rock Lobster is the definitive winner on this one. The song is so bizarre and iconic that is stands up thirty years later. Fred Schneider's spastic dancing and talk-singing and the crazy sound effects from Cindy and Kate are one of a kind. Plus, this song got them banned from ever playing in the state of Minnesota again!
Rock Lobster for it's above noted absurdity and b/c Billy Corrigan is a Cubs fan.
B-52s. Done.
MW here: I'll vote Cherub Rock. I appreciate the cultural significance of RL, but just can't stand to listen to it.
Um...B-52s
But it should've been Private Idaho
Cherub Rock. Not even close.
